Canmore Golf & Curling Club
The Canmore Golf & Curling Club was established in June of 1926. Deeply rooted in the community, the club has a very busy and active facility with golf in the summer months and curling during the winter months.
The 18-hole, 6,307 yard, par 71 course layout features many natural water hazards, the Bow River and well-placed bunkers, together producing a succession of outstanding golf holes. Each hole is designed to allow the golfer maximum views of the mountains and natural terrain. Exceptional course maintenance and a friendly staff add the final touches to an enjoyable and walkable round of golf. Les Furber of Golf Design Services continues to make upgrades to the course each year.
Facilities and Services
Practice is very important to the members of the Canmore Golf & Curling Club, which boasts a double ended grass tee driving range, separate short game area (three greens, one bunker and a 40-yard pitching area), one putting green and a two-hole practice course.
A fully-stocked pro shop highlights all the latest fashions and equipment offered by leading manufacturers. Lessons and repairs are offered by qualified CPGA staff, including week-long junior and lady instructional sessions during summer.
The clubhouse features the best deck in the valley with an excellent restaurant catering to each of the golfers’ and diners’ needs. The main dining room, with a capacity of 140 people, hosts most of the larger corporate tournaments; the curling lounge-used for meetings during the summer-holds 40; the curling rink can be used during summer for groups of up to 500 people; and of course, a golfers’ concession is available to players during their round. Each of these areas is supported by an outstanding chef and service staff.
