News and Events for the 2011 Season

Canmore Golf and Curling Club’s New No. 2

Canmore Golf & Curling Club will be ready for its April 22 anticipated open date – and a special 85th anniversary season – with a new look to several of its golf holes. Chief among them is the 2nd hole, a par 3 which uses an old friend, the former 11th hole, as the foundation for a compelling early layout. Several holes have new tee boxes, and you’ll also encounter a few new bunkers and mounding, to add variety and challenge.

But the show stopper might just be the renovation of the clubhouse, which will include a two-sided fireplace for both indoor and outdoor enjoyment, and windows that take advantage of the Rockies’ stunning views.

Keep Canmore Golf & Curling Club on your radar for June 27, when it hosts the Gary Anderson “Fore Kids” Charity Golf Tournament; the end of July, when it hosts the Alberta Junior Ladies Championship,

Silvertip Resort will open its 2011 Tee Sheet for advance reservations on February 1 for play starting May 19th. Save the date today and call 877-877-5444 . Pre-paid rounds are now being sold for $125 – that’s $50 off the current rate.

Kananaskis Country’s Mt. Lorette frequently sees friends of the four-legged variety visiting the course, both in summer and winter. While it looks like this, its 14th hole had a winter conference recently of a different sort, as a herd of elk crossed the fairway.

We hope they bring their clubs this Spring. Get ahead of the rush by booking your tee times online starting on February 22, here:  http://www.kananaskisgolf.com/greenfees.html

Golf has been played for 100 years in Banff, and The Fairmont Banff Springs plans a season-long celebration. We won’t reveal the details yet, but you can count on extraordinary golf experiences and a chance to make your own stamp on its history by visiting in 2011.

We congratulate the staff for its recent AAA Four Diamond award in both accommodations and dining in its exceptional Banffshire Club, for another repeat performance.

Bring your golf group or corporate outing to Stewart Creek Golf Club, which is currently accepting advance bookings for groups with 16 or more golfers. All others – March 1 is your date to remember for tee time reservations.

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge greatly anticipates the start the new season with its golf, spa and the new Promenade fully operational for a late spring opening. What does that mean for you? Great dining, muscle relaxation, health club and shopping are the perfect pairing with golf for your next visit. Tee times will open later this spring.
