Canadian Rockies Golf Partner Course, Silvertip is an Environmental Protector
For those of us that have been to famed Silvertip Resort in Canmore, jaw-dropping mountain views are par for the stunning, challenging course. While they never fail to delight, it’s the sounds of nature that also beckon us back to its famed fairways.
Audubon International agrees. The organization re-certified Silvertip for its Audubon Signature Sanctuary program in January, noting the course for its contributions to environmental excellence.
As the release states,
“The staff at Silvertip Resort have shown a strong commitment to their environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property.”
The course is among 873 courses in the world to receive the honor; the course entered the program in its first year after opening in 2008.
Participation is designed to help course personnel plan, organize, implement and document a comprehensive environmental management program and receive recognition for their efforts.
To reach certification, courses must demonstrate that they maintain a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management.
We congratulate Silvertip, and all our Canadian Rockies Golf courses that have been recognized by this exceptional program, and are dedicated to keeping the Canadian Rockies a pure golf experience.
