In honor of Mother’s Day, our golf pros share a few of their favorite golf memories with mom on and off the course:
“My best recent memory with my mom was when we played golf recently in Bermuda. I stood up, being a CPGA pro and director of golf and hit my drive into the woods. She stood up and hit it right down the middle and looked at me and said ‘what is your problem?’ At 70 years old it is great we can still play and great she still has a wonderful sense of humor – if you knew my mom you would know she said it with the greatest of smiles from many years of listening to me talk about my golf!” –Steven Young (The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel)
“She and I would escort numerous golf trips all over the world. She was in the travel business and not much of a golfer. We did these trips for over 25 years, traveling to the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba, Thailand, China, Spain and Portugal. We always had a great time, sharing travel and golf experiences with members and golfers.” –Darren Cooke (Canmore Golf & Curling Club)
“When I was 7 years old I remember running into the house to tell my mom that I just made a hole in one and she wouldn’t believe me. Amazing how that still sticks in my head.” –Alan Carter (The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge)
“My best memory is watching my mom make her first birdie on old hole #2 (Par 3) at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club. The tee shot was over the water to about a two foot putt and it went in the side door.” –Chris Schaztmann (Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club)
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms from the CRG family!
